Let’s discuss the homey Dante – Detroit’s hardest-working eMCee

Continuing with the exposé of solid musical contributions by friends and acquaintances, I would like to shine some light on my man Danté LaSalle Dauminique [Tucker]. I believe the homey is hanging out in Romulus these days. He’s been on the Vans Warped Tour playing the Code of the Cutz hip hop tent for the past two summers. In fact, this past tour he was a headlining act.

But peep, out of all of the rappers that I personally know – DANTE IS THE HARDEST-WORKING OF THEM ALL. He actually takes the DIY creed to heart. I mean, the man does most of the grinding himself from executive producing his records to getting his records in stores. Dante has his own label imprint that he releases all his projects (plug: Havoc). He has networked like crazy via throwing shows at The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor. It is not surprising that he’s one of the few that have landed a distribution deal through a digital media company, which these days is what everyone needs to get their music released. Dante tries to stay ahead of the joneses with creative output and surrounding himself with productive people. That’s why he’s my guy.

Here’s a music video of a seemingly unreleased track by Dante:

And what would a feature blog be without a couple tracks to download:
